Chris,

Volvo motor mounts are known for their periodic need for replacement. Not sure why. Maybe it's the way they are designed. They sit at a slight slant. That way in the event of a head-on, the motor goes down and back, not straight into the passenger compartment.

I had to replace all 3 on my 1980 DL at 145,000 just this last year. They looked fine but when you pushed the engine, you could tell they were sheared through.
