Re: HELP:A/C Compressor won't cycle 740-760 1990

ICQ>

Do you live in Texas? If yes, then it's way too damn hot for the refrigerant to reach a low enough vapor pressure on low side to allow pressure-cycling switch on accumulator to cut power to clutch. Seriously, in hot weather it may not cycle unless you run it for a time to cool car (I assume it must be cooling since you didn't say there was a problem) and then set it to a low fan speed.

There isn't a realy between the accum. switch and the clutch coil to stick. If the clutch is working then all of the circuit involving the relays is okay.

Unscrewing the pressure switch should cut off the compressor unless switch is stuck or there is a wiring fault that is providing power to compressor by- passing switch.
