water coming in car 200 83

any advice would be appreciated...

after it rains, a few drops of water are getting in my car via the front windshield, which was replaced before i bought the car.....the rubber gasket around the windshield seems snug...but the plastic molding with screws on it that is located around the windshield INSIDE the car has a gap about an inch wide...

any idea if that gap is the problem, or at least part of the problem? (that seems unlikely, since that plastic molding doesn't seem to be designed to keep water out of the car).

re: windshield leaks, other than replacing the dang thing again...is there an easy way to make that area watertight again?

any additional theories/experiences with this are appreciated...

thanks!

susan.
