Bill,

If you have a 240 check the condition of the lower spring seats on the front

struts as they are prone to rusting out. I had a 1983-245 that had this

problem. Volvo makes a repair kit, for around $40, that consists of 2 zinc

plated replacement seats and instructions. No welding is required. Check

the condition of yours now as it would be a good time to replace them, if needed, as the springs will be removed.
