need advice on minor problem 1800 1967

Hello all. I'd like to get some advice from fellow 1800 owners on a little problem with mine that just showed up. I was taking the car out and put most of my tools in the trunk and when I got to where I was going I couldn't open the trunk. Very frustrating! I still cannot get into the trunk. Is this a problem with these cars. The only reason I ask is that sometimes my passenger door will not open once it is closed. Usually if I keep trying with the key it will eventually open but needless to say this is very annoying. Just curious if the locking mechanisms on this car are generally faulty, or if this is just a specific problem with my car. So, I contemplated called a locksmith to get the damn thing open, but I'm worried that if every time I close this trunk / passenger door will I have the same problem. Two questions; 1. How should I approach this? 2. Is there a place on the internet where I could get replacement locking mechanisms for the trunk and passenger door?

Thanks to all for any advice.

William
