timing belt:: aligning gears 200 84

the alignment marks on the cam shaft gear are the only ones i seem to be able to locate... there is a mark on the intermediate shaft gear, but not anywhere on the coinciding housing(i do not actually know if 'housing' is the proper term)

also, on the crankshaft gear: i can't seem to find any mark, except a chalk line that someone else made on it--i am assuming this signifies the reference point on thet gear

i can't think of any other options except to use the lines marked on the new timing belt as reference points...

i am using the haynes manual.....and i have limited mechanical skills or experience, but i have always heard that these cars are fairly easy to work on

any insight would be GREATLY appreciated
