Does Air Need To Be Purged From AC Gauge Hoses Before Charging 200 1987

Hello

When hooking up ac guages which are not equipped with some type of quick disconnect seal on the hose ends, does the air which is present in the 3 ac hoses of the guage set make its way into the ac system.

To what extent would such air be a factor or how would the ac system eventually purge it.

I was reading material relevant to the ac certification test and it speaks of such air in bottles of refrigerant creating a higher pressure within the bottle than pure refrigerant would normally have.

Before it was known to be so damaging to the environment did technicians purge the middle (supply) hose of air before they opened the low side to introduce refrigerant to the system.

Thanx
