My experience has been that once I have removed the pads from the caliper and removed the bolts that hold the caliper in place that the lines have enough flex in them to allow the the caliper to be pulled up and back enough to clear the rotor. I then hang the caliper from the coil spring with a piece of wire until I'm ready to replace it.
