Make sure the hose isn't twisted, from the chasis to the slave cylinder. Also

get someone to operate the clutch and see how it runs, so to speak. Check it

when it's cold, and then hot. My '86 740t has 200k miles and about 120k on this

clutch. I replaced it since my throwout bearing was bad. I also replaced the

rear seal at the same time, I was in there so why not. The clutch will last a

long time, if you don't slip it too much. It is after all an art form.

P.S. If you decide to replace the hose, get the right tools, flare tool

wrenches. They are like box end wrenches, but with a small cutout on the end.
