A/C dead as door nail .... 740-760 86

ICQ>

I own 1986 740T with B230 engine. A/C is not producing cold air.

All was well few months ago (last time I used it).

I want to check simple things out first. Belt appears tight enough, and I see

no leaks. On other cars one can usually hear the A/C clutch engage. Not here.

There is one wire coming to the compressor. What kind of voltage should it have ?

What is the purpose of the little green plastic-looking thing through which this wire

is going ? It sits on top of the compressor. The motor fan if fine, as well as the sliding

controls. Fuse (no. 9) is also o.k.

Help it's getting hot in N.C.
