960 Auxillary ATF Cooler modification 900 94

I seem to remember seeing some messages on this board about the benefits of adding an ATF cooler between the trans & the radiator. I have recently replaced the radiator on my 95 965 (3 months ago). The failure of the old radiator was a leak which developed on the ATF cooling side between the plastic tank & the alum core. I am about to take the car on a long trip across the Calif desert & expect some extended climbing at perhaps 115 F deg. I'm thinking that the adding of an ATF cooler should be an easy modification, and this might be a good time to do it.

Any feedback/parts recommendations on this?

The car does not seem to have any cooling problems, and does not have any coolant leaks.

Is this idea of an auxillary ATF air cooler out on the fringe of paranoia or does it have a more reasonable & rational basis?
