Steering Box Replacement 1800 72

The steering box inn my '72 1800ES is shot. The box looks as though it's the same unit as those used in the non PS 140 cars, save for the steering input shaft. I have a good 140 steering box, and would like to change input shaft so it will work in the 1800. Can this be done?
