Wife on trip; called...window lifts quit...ideas?? 200 1989

Wife is on 5 day trip by herself. Our '89 244 has electric windows, which quit working 300 miles from here. She checked fuses; OK. All windows fail from all switches. I'm thinking there is a relay in there somewhere. Will study books tonight, but wondered if any of you had similar experience and could make suggestions. Windows are all about half down, as it is hot trip. (AC won't switch on either; had it checked last week and it is fully charged.) She loves here 244, but was a little cross on the 'phone tonight. Ideas appreciated, Dennis
