Yep, she still runs beautifully after 2-plus months of dormancy. My dad called a family friend who is a general mechanic (I was a little hesitant at first because my baby is a Volvo and thus may require "special" attention) to check my 245 out. Well, he seemed to be very good at mechanics and knew my Volvo quite well. It turned out that some (idle control?) hose got disconnected, perhaps done by me when I did an oil change on her 2 months ago. Good thing it wasn't anything fuel pump related. The hose got reconnected and she fires right up--kind of surprised that there was still some charge in the battery!
I checked the oil, and I was pleased that it looked "new" without any grime or sludge. It's so nice to know that I did my own engine flush and even nicer to see the result :o) By the way, the engine flush was so easy! And Jiffy Lube wanted to charge me 60 something bucks for one! Next project...fix the OD!
Anyhow, the mechanic friend showed me where the idle control is and was trying to adjust it. Is it that cylindrical thingy above the engine? And do you adjust the idle by turning the yellow screw? If so, my idle screw seems to be too loose in that it will not "stay put" in the new position when turned. Needless to say, I cannot adjust my idle speed, which happens to be too high (2000rpm).
Just wanted to share my good news and thank all who helped me. Sorry Don Foster, I guess my baby can't donate any "organs" to any of your need-a-new-part cars ;o)
