Driveshaft Support Bearing Size? 120-130 64

I need to replace my Driveshaft Support Bearing on my 1964 122S 2-door. My driveshaft measures approximately 1.80" (using electronic calipers). I understand that these shafts came in 1 3/4 " and 2" sizes. Therefore, I conclude that mine must be 1 3/4" + dirt & corrosion. Now, I ordered a bearing for my 1 3/4" shaft and I was sent a bearing with a 1 3/8" I.D. Will this fit?????

I have heard two "theories":

1. It will not fit. It is too small.

2. It will fit. The shaft steps down to 1 3/8" under the bearing.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH IS CORRECT? IF # 1 IS CORRECT, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET A 1 3/4" I.D. BEARING?

I would like to have the right part on hand when I disassemble this thing!

Thanks very much!

Jack
