Droning Noise with A/C on 200 91

When my Air conditioning is on, and I am driving, I can hear a noise like a vibration that is resonating against another surface. It is a drumming sound that is most noticeable from the passenger seat. This noise cycles on and off, so it might be compressor-related.

I already decided it has nothing to do with the electric fan, since I jumpered its switch and it does not cycle off any more.

What do you think this is? Does not do it sitting in the driveway during idle.
