Adding fuel capacity 900 1992

I know this has probably been covered, but I couldn't find anything in the archives. Is there any way to increase the fuel capacity of a 700/900 series with live axle? I'm commuting 100 miles a day and it gets old having to get gas every other day. Some models came with dual fuel tanks didn't they? Where did the second fuel tank go? Who on earth came up with the bright idea to put a 13 gallon (useable space) tank in a 3500lb luxury tourer... MB got it right...450 mile range in my dad's 300SDL-T.

Thanks,

Lance
