144 or 164? 140-160 1970

I recently found a really good deal on a 1974 164 for sale and I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow. My question is, what are the pro's and con's of owning a 164 vs a 144? If I buy this car it will be replacing my 144 as a daily driver. Is the 164 really tough to find parts for? Is the engine a real gas guzzler? Am I crazy for driving one of these daily to work every day (short drive)? I'm sure the power and luxury of the 164 is far better then my 144, but are there any negatives? Is 1974 a good year for the 164 (it's fuel injected and is an auto with a/c)? I really like my 144, but I want an auto trans and for the price of the conversion I can buy this 164 automatic.
