Re: Wasn't my intent to offend anyone...

"...did the original shelby have a 451 ford?"

There are probably Ford gurus out there that know more about this... strictly speaking, the original "Shelby" was a 6-clyinder sports car made in the UK by a company called AC (the car was called an "Ace", as I recall). Shelby brought these cars to the US, removed the engines, and installed a Ford 260 ci engine... the forerunner of the 289, I think. Soon thereafter he started bringing cars over w/o any engine, and installed 289's, then eventually 427's. Also, some (maybe all?) of these little sports cars had aluminum bodies. For a long time - like from the mid-60's to ?? the 427 Cobra was the quickest 0-to-100mph-to-0 car in the world.

I'm not sure about the "451"... I don't believe Ford ever made a stock engine of that displacement.

"...a 5.7 (350) chevy water pump for even a 69 camaro will probably cost less than a water pump for any redblock..."

Exactly.
