Lee is wrong, Les is right

The 351 and 429 motors did not go into production until several years after Shelby discontinued the Cobra, although many kit car reproductions have been so equiped. Real Cobras have 260s (a very few), 289s, or 427s and 428s (427s have a bigger bore and shorter stroke than 428s, but also head gasket problems in street driving, so Shelby built a few boulevard "427" Cobras with "428" motors.)
