turn signal mystery 200 87

I am still working on getting the back up lights to work, but maybe the following is related. when the right turn signal should be on, the upper yellow bulb flashes weakly, with a rapid clicking of the flasher. the left one works fine(with the lower bulb flashing). when I put a test light on the lower right socket contact and rim it flashes fine,at the proper rate, yet a good bulb does not work in the same socket.

what's happening? thanks , Larry
