antenna mast alternatives?Harada from Wallmart/ 700 90

1-few yr lifespans of Volvo antenna(antenna unit made in Japan) masts.Expensive at dealer or expensive freight at mail order.

Has anyone used the ubiquitious cheaper 5 -segments Harada ant mast,available at Wallmart/The plastic nylon cog/tail looks the same.
