Now I'm worried... 200 1980

I posted a query about my hard starting 1980 240, and also mentioned that while the car runs cold, not hot, my coolant still disappears without any known leaks. Someone wrote back with talk of a possible leaking head gasket. Wouldn't I be overheating then, and also wouldn't my oil be milky?
