won't start 200 83

I made a bad decision on an 83 240. the tank was full of rust and pre pump was shot .(car had sat and I didn't know it.) Anyway it did run when I bought it.I replaced the tank and pre pump assy. and filter. It is pumping plenty of gas to fuel rail, and I replaced the injectors. no blown fuses. Pulled out injection computer and found some diodes and resistors burnt up.Replaced with a spare from a 1990 240 and smoke started coming out of it.Both were ljetronic.I also swapped the flow meter in the intake hose from the same car. Some hilbilly was trying to figure out why it wouldn't run right and overlooked the gas tank and got into the wiring harness at the firewall. I am going to put all the wires back color to color and hope I don't smoke another computer, I am aware that the 83 and 84 ljet were compatible but not 1990, I think it's obviously an elect. problem due to his handiwork but I don't want to smoke another computer even though the one from the 1990 was off a wreck I had this could get expensive. Please help me!!!!!!!!
