Yeah, good point. I forgot about these newer trannies. Seems like back in the late 60's/early 70's 4-speeds trannies were considered to be living on the edge. I remember talking to a gear-head friend in about '72 or '73, telling him about my Fiat 124 Spider... four-wheel disc brakes, double-overhead cam engine, 5-speed tranny... he said Waitaminnit!! No way is it a 5-speed! Surely it's a 4-speed, right??

Of course, he drove an SS396. I wonder which car is worth more now, that '69 124 Spider, or his '71 SS...

Oh well, at least I felt cool, back in those days, shifting into 5th gear!
