valve spring shims??? 140-160 71

I have had the head cut for the double isky springs and I am going to run a D cam...

Now what is this about correctly shimming the valve springs for your cam profile???

Can someone explain this to me? I have another motor also w/double springs and I had planned to use a more radical cam...Do I have to shim it differently?
