Favorite Air Filters? 200 1986

Almost everyone seems to universally like the Mann oil filters, but does anybody have any opinions on air filters?

I've always purchased just whatever the parts store carried. I don't want a "performance" filter, just one that'll do its job well. The three brands I see for sale that seem popular for European cars are Mahle, Mann and Crossland. Anybody have any experience with these?

Since I'm buying a couple, I'm tempted to buy one of each so I can test them out and report my findings. Not sure how I'd do that, though.
