hot weather stalls 700 1987

I too have been having hot weather stalls intermittently. (judging from the index, there's a lot of that going around). I posted several questions on the list a couple of weeks ago. (no more fuel pump relay suggestions please :)I finally gave up and took it to two different shops. Neither has fixed it or offered a reasonable explanation. The second shop did suggest I have the engine wiring harness replaced, along with the coil, O2 sensor, engine temp sensor, radio suppression/fuel injection relay and several other items to the tune of $1580. No thanks. I know the car is old (173k), but I thought Volvo's were supposed to last 250 to 300k. This is my first Volvo and since I can't figure this one out (and apparently neither can anyone else), I guess it will be my last.
