two things: OD switch and engine hesitation 200 '83

I have two annoying problems with my brick right now...

overdrive: the OD switch does not work-the "OD off" indicator is lit up on my dash, and if I click the OD switch, the "OD off" indicator stays lit up.

My theory is that just the switch is bad, & that the OD itself would work if the switch was fixed. Does that sound right? or is that symptomatic of the actual OD not working....

Other problem is:

hesitation/stalling....when i put my foot on the accelerator from a complete stop, car does not accelerate quickly (it can be very sluggish).....sometimes it does, but sometimes not...very scary when trying to make left hand turn against oncoming traffic...yesterday i was not sure i was going to get across without getting plowed by the oncoming traffic!!!

so far, i have changed spark plugs & SP wires, checked air filter.i am planning to get the injectors cleaned, but would like some feedback before doing that. Any info on either/both problems greatly appreciated!!

thanks a lot!!
