Gas in the oil, and hard warm-starting 200 92

My 240 has been hard to start when it's warm (starts easy when it's cold) for a month or so now. I just changed the oil, and I noticed that when I removed the oil filler cap there were visible fumes coming out of it--and they smelled like gas!

Yikes! Any idea what's happening here? The car has never been overheated, to my knowledge. I do get an intermittent "bad signal from air mass meter" error code, but when I test the meter, it checks out OK.

Am I in danger here?

-Steve
