Speedometer off!! 200 1989

My speedometer appears to be reading 5 to 10 mph higher than my actual speed. I have taken the speedometer into the local zepco speedometer shop and they claim the speedometer itself is in perfect working condition.

What could be causing my problem?

Are there any relay's or filters between the speedo and the transmition?

Where on the transmition does the speedometer hook up? Maybe I need to check that connection?
