Re: Auto tranny shift points 200 1991

My 1989 240 wagon has started shifting late on all gears. Not terribly so, but late and it is becoming more consistant. My understanding is that the cure for this is to replace the throttle pressure cable (kick-down cable). My manual does not have any information on how to do this.

The question is: Is this a job for a reasonably adept amateur mechanic or best left to a pro. I have done a lot of stuff but have not fooled with auto transmissions other than to change out the occasional front pump or complete unit.

If anyone has the answer, please pass it on.

The info on rear taigate wiring was great- it took me less than 2 hours to replace the harnesses.

Thanks

Zimm
