Mann oil filter: A Revelation! 200 90

A couple of weeks ago, I posed the naive question here why my oil light stayed on for 1-2 seconds after startup. Today, I changed the oil (Mobil 1) and used for the first time a Mann oil filter. The light goes out instantaneous with startup, even briefly before! My previous 3 oil changes (since I bought the car)were done using a Mobil 1 oil filter which I thought would be adequete since, well, I think Mobil 1 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now, I am converted to the wisdom which I've heard here on the brickboard that OEM filters are the ONLY way to go. But, my question: why is there this phenomenon with the oil dash light complaining about non-OEM oil filters?
