Will a VX Camshaft reduce my MPG? 700 1991

Hi Folks,

I was thinking of adding a little more power to my '91 745 (non-turbo) and IPD suggested the VX Camshaft. I was wondering if this would reduce my gas mileage? I just want some added power to get onto the freeways faster, and to get up those mountain hills a little faster (I travel to the Sierras a few times a year, and I hated it when people got backed up behind me in the '86 744, and was assuming the wagon would have about the same amount of power unless I change something.)

Thanks,

Jenn
