Re: Strut inserts 700 1988

ME TOO! I was able to do the Driver's side, but the passenger side defeated me for now. I took to a mechanic to air impact it off, but he said that if I did it on the car, I wouldn't be able to get it home. I think that the suggestion about removing completely from car and putting in vise sounds good, also change ball joint... they tend to get damaged during this.

I also have question for anyone out there on this....

When I removed my drivers side and took out the old insert the directions on strut said to remove all inside tube components. There was a metal spacer at the bottom of tube. Was that supposed to be there or did the previous owner leave it in by mistake?
