Extended Camping / Sleeping arrangements 200 ALL

G'day,

My girlfriend are planning a trip in a VW camper, but are now thinking that maybe we could do the same thing in my 240 Wagon. We would have a foam mattress in the back, cut in two so we have storage space during the day, with a tent / awning off to the side, and a custom roof rack thing above.

Has any one ever done this?

What about a roof top bed, has anyone ever done this? Is the Volvo roof strong enough to take the weight across say, 4 roof bars and support a bed?

Any thoughts etc appreciated.

John
