245 fuel tank fumes in the car - vent tube question 200 81

lately I've noticed fuel vapor fumes comming from the back of my wagon after I have filled the tank up full. It really was noticeable while driving on a windy mountain road for about 45 min. After the fuel gauge went down to about 3/4 the gas smell went away. I heard there is a breather tube or return tube that can come loose. can anyone describe where this is so I can easily zero in on fixing it? thanks in advance.
