Re: What engine is in the 87, GLE? 700 87

Volvo used only 2 oil pans on the single cam 4 cylinder engines. 76 thru 79 or 80 had a flat bottom pan. Starting in 80 or 81, the oil pump was changed and the pan bottom was rounded to accomodate the new pump. You can use any pan from any 200-700-900 4 cylinder single cam engine from 81-95. If the 87 donor car is a 740 GLE, 4 cyl, it'll work. If 760 GLE V-6, no go.
