245 Trim and Rocker paint help 200 1989

Has anyone out there ever repainted the metal rocker panels and the plastic strips that run accross the bottom of the doors. I believe that they matched in color when the car was new, but cant be sure. Anyone have any tips on make/type of spraypaint and the treatment.

The strips on the bottom of my doors are olive and gray swirled and appear very weathered/worn. I am thinking of treating it with a good TSP cleaner prior to painting...thanks for any experienced painters out there!

Also, the plastic covering between the rear wheels and back bumper...has anyone painted that area. Not sure if it was originally charcoal in color or black to match the bumper?
