low idle 200 1984

Hi guys.

Friend of mine has a 240 GL auto from 1984, in Holland. It stalls when warm at traffic lights when left in D. Not a big problem, just a nuisance.

From the web I got the impression these Volvos had fuel injection. It looks like wearing a carb rather than FI to me, but I'm not sure. Could european versions have had carbs of a brand called Pierburg (type 175 CD). Then there not much else I can do than adjust up the idle.

Apart from this the exhaust tail pipe looks black inside, so I gather mixture is on the rich side. Could this be general wear in the carb?

Thanks for any hints.

Eisso.
