Not to get wrapped up around the axle here, Jon, but "engineering" and "science" are different disciplines -- both in college and in practice. Though it might seem reasonable to refer to a Ph.D. in areonautical engineering or propulsion systems as a "rocket scientist," strictly speaking it's the wrong terminology.

Science generally asks questions and hints at sketchy answers, engineering generally provides answers to questions in great detail.

The term "rocket scientist" is merely a popular term of awe and respect and unattainable somethingorother -- like brains. Rockets are engineered.

Maybe we should instead talk about "rocket engineers."
