In-tank fuel pump substitute? 700 86

I suspect I'll need to replace the in-tank fuel pump on my '86 740 GLE (97K miles, B230F engine, LH 2.2 injection) soon. The main pump has gotten a bit noisy at less than a half tank, and I've noted a loss of power; I'll also be checking the fuel pressure & fuel pressure regulator before performing surgery, but am inclined towards thinking the in-tank pump is dying.

I seem to recall that there's a pump which will work at a much lower cost than the Volvo one, but I can't seem to find mention of it in the 700/900 FAQ, and I apparently neglected at the time to cut 'n paste the information into my Volvo reference files.

Anyone know which pump (i.e., make/model & year) I should ask for at my local parts store?
