$300 242GT ? 700 88

Went to look at a '80 242GT today. I currently have a '88 740 gle and don't know as much about the 240's, especially the early ones that don't have the b230. The seller is only asking $300 so that is the real reason I am cosidering it. It was restored about 4 years ago but sat for the past year or two. Rust has set in on the bottom of the doors and around the wheelwells. It has the orange and black stripes down the side and all the Volvo R interior stuff. The engine fired right up but it does need exhaust work. I have been thinking about it hard and I think I am going to buy it. What I was wondering was how much is this car really worth in its condition now and how much if it was in pretty good condition? From what I know these cars are pretty rare. Is anybody has any more information about the 242gt please let me know about it. Lastly my parents are demanding that if I get this car I have to get rid of 2 of my others. I am only 17 so I really only need one car. I know this is a long shot but if anybody wants a '64 Rambler Classic that needs an easy restoration or a '79 Caprice Classic with 90k in above average condition let me know. Thanks.
