4th gear disengaging by itself?? 200 1986

I have an automatic 1986 240, 209k miles. Just recently, for no reason that I can think of, that little orange "up" arrow will come on while I am doing 60 mph or faster and the transmission kicks down big time. I try to disengage it with that tiny button on the side of the shifter without much luck. Yesterday on the freeway, I had to pull over to the shoulder and come to a complete stop before the light went out and I could go again. Is this a transmission problem or maybe just a microswitch for that little button?

Any info would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Fred
