Oil discharge on valve cover 700 1987

Recently I've started to see oil on my valve cover, apparently discharged out of the filler cap. Wondering what might be the cause(s). Also wondering if this is related to a previous problem; a few weeks back I was losing power when I'd stomp on the gas and the turbo should have been kicking in. Black exhaust would also appear in this case. Found one of the induction hoses had loosened and was actually choking off the engine. Could this have contibuted to the current oil discharge? I've removed the flame trap and found it 'open'.

Thanks for any suggestions. My fear is that having driven the car some miles (~150) with the open induction hose that I damaged rings or caused other such damage.
