clutch noises 200 82

My girlfriend has a 240 that has a noisy clutch. It has a very loud squeak when depressed and let up. She just had it replaced and the squeak is still there. And, another sound has developed after the replacement--a chirping noise, just like a cricket, when the clutch is barely engaged. I also have a 240 ('84) with the same squeak, but my comes and goes. I was wondering if a cable replacement is necessary to eliminate the squeak, and-more importantly-whether a bad bearing from a new clutch set is to blame for the cricket like chirping sound.

thanks to anyone who can offer me any advice,

pete
