Oil leak thru distributor 700 1986

The continuing saga of tracing down an oil leak. Before I buy special tools to drive out the pin that holds my distributor together, I thought I would mention on thing I thought of today: As far as I could tell, when I took out my distributor, there was no oil that had leaked through to the inside of the distributor; the inside of the distributor cap was dry as a bone, and I do not recall seeing any messy oil stain etc. around where the dust cap covers the hall sensor, etc. Does this suggest that the oil leak is not coming through the inner seal but through where the o-rings are? Thanks.
