Drivetrain play 120-130 1967

My 122 wagon w/new B20 is getting really annoying to drive: I have to either carefullly and slowly accelerate or fully stomp on the pedal . . . otherwise some springy play somewhere in the drivetrain creates a front-back jerking rocking that could get me sued for whiplash to passengers. It accelerates as if the driveshaft had a suspension spring welded in the middle.

While some of this is due to use of a poorly jetted Weber kit, does this sound like bad u-joints in the driveshaft, bad driveshaft yokes, transmission looseness or differential wear or what???
