coolant leak(big) 700 87

I have a new to me 745tic that I picked up recently needing some repairs. I have replaced the seized power steering pump, coolant hoses, and today changed timing belt, front seals and water pump. The water pump was visibly leaking and now is fine, however, on a test drive of about 7 miles I lost a considerable amout of coolant. There is a small puddle of coolant on the ground to the rear of the control arm and the strut tower by the reservoir is somewhat wet also. I'm thinking that that pressure cap is junk. In the 700/900 FAQ there is a mention of a grey cap used on the 940 that is known to develop leaks and that the solution is to get a green cap....does this also hold true for the 700's? By the way, the cap on my 700 is grey. Any comments?

Dan

p.s. this tic is fast!!!!!
