There is a drain inside the cowl that may be plugged with leaves and debris: if it is, then water might leak down into the fresh air intake for the blower. More likely is a poor windshield adhesive seal. Removing the cowl is simple: see the 700/900 FAQ. Remove wiper arms and several bolts along the front edge of the cowl, then with the hood open, pull it up and off.
